Exciting events lined up to showcase Pukekohe Pukekohe Pukekohe Business Association invites the community to shop, eat and play local. And the Pukekohe Business Association (PBA) would like to keep it that way. also provide promotions and free events for our community to come together and enjoy," In this backdrop, the PBA delivers a calendar of events throughout the year to create a vibrant and prosperous business centre for the community to enjoy. Their vision is to encourage people in the Franklin district and surrounding areas to shop, eat, play and love local. So without further ado, here's a roundup of fun-filled and family oriented events from now through to Christmas. "We are committed to the success of local businesses and the economic growth and development of our town," says Town Centre Manager Shawna Coleman. "We advocate for, support and promote local businesses by working closely with business owners, the council and the community to enhance the local business district. Our vision is that Pukekohe provides the best of town and country, with thriving businesses and quality opportunities to live, learn, work and play" The PBA was founded in 1992 and became a registered Business Improvement District in 2012. It is managed by a team of three local and passionate individuals. Shawna, who came on board in 2016, comes from a long line of Pukekohe locals and after five years with the PBA, was appointed Manager earlier this year. Promotions Coordinator Chenay Douglas joined the team in 2017 and has deep family roots in the Waiuku and Tuakau areas. The newest member of the team, Administration Coordinator Kate Morgan, came on board in August. Kate is also a Pukekohe local and as the previous owner of a local business, she understands the benefits the Association provides to the more than 700 businesses in town. Business success is at the core of everything they do. Shawna explains: "We see Pukekohe as the business and community hub of Franklin and aim to ensure it retains its distinctive country feel. We support our members to thrive as business owners and grow their businesses through our subsidy programme, training and seminars and networking opportunities. The Final Rumble Parade & Park Up will commence up King Street at 5.15pm and will feature a mix of Classic, Vintage, Hot Rod, Ford, Holden and special interest vehicles.
